Cousin Loli from Barcelona

José's cousin came on a bus tour from Barcelona and spent about 30 minutes with us in Elche. She was very nice and he says he lived with her and her family when he was a teenager, so their relationship was closer than that of just cousins. Her name is Loli, short for Delores. They have invited us to their home during Holy Week (Easter Week) We haven't been to the North East of Spain yet. Sounds like a plan to me. Also in the photo is the husband of Loli, another José and the sisters of cousin José, his oldest and his youngest.

The Clap... no thanks.

Couldn't resist taking this picture. I guess it is a restaurant, and José didn't understand when I laughed and said I'm not eating there.

In my youth...

So, I was going through some of my things of Family History again and found some negatives wrapped in tissue. I took them to someplace to see if they could develop. The store man wasn't sure they could do anything so I gave them just one negative to see if they could develop. This is the picture that came back. ME, I think I was 6 and my sister 3. This would have been in New York, just before we left for Washington. New York to Washington in 3 days. I only remember bits and pieces of that trip. It was Mom and Dad, 6 girls and a cat, in a packed station wagon, towing a small homemade trailer with more belongings and a Saint Bernard dog (you can almost see my dog Monk in the background).

Guardamar Beach

What a great day today. Sleeping in, waking up to sunshine, a drive to the beach, great lunch, relaxing on the beach and home again.

I did take time to pick up some Cockle shells for my sister Mary since it was her birthday.

Genealogy can be fun.

Working on my genealogy and ran into some old photos. How fun. This one happens to be of my mom and dad and my dad's grandpa. Back in the day.
